Expressions of Interest
If you are interested in becoming a member of PBNC’s Management Committee. Interested persons should have at least three of the following attributes:
- Be a strategic thinker
- Have sound financial capability (particularly if seeking role as Treasurer)
- Business experience/ HR experience
- Previous management committee experience
- Experience in a non-profit organisation
The Management Committee works in parallel with staff to secure a strong future for the service. It operates as a team, draws on the skills and talents of each member, and works towards common goals that will ensure the organisation’s success. Some additional attributes desirable are as follows;
- A commitment to the mission of the organisation
- A minimum of six hours per month to commit
- An understanding of the role of the committee
- A sense of altruism
- Leadership skills and willingness to accept responsibility
- Tact, judgement, discretion and listening skills
- Strategic vision
- Dedication
- Good communication skills.
Candidates should be team players who are prepared to commit fully and thoughtfully to their roles as management committee members to the organisation. In addition to the professional attributes outlined above, candidates should also have a philosophy of social justice. This is a voluntary role, a full induction will be provided to help you grow and understand the role. In addition if you are a past client or service user of the centre, we also welcome your contribution towards governance. PBNC makes available a minimum of one ordinary member position on our Management Committee specifically for past service users.
Essentially this is a great opportunity to play an integral role in the operation and growth of a vital community organisation, which directly and positively impacts upon the lives of the socially, emotionally and financially vulnerable persons living on the southern end of the coast.
